Conflict Resolution Training
This dynamic and interactive conflict resolution training gives youth the “know-how” to recognize conflicts, and prevent them from escalating into further problems. Energetic hands-on exercises get youth engaged, leading to follow up discussions on how they can positively respond to conflict. This fun and informative training is ideal for youth ages 8 to 18 years old in any setting. It is the perfect training for youth who are new to each other, and building camaraderie and team work.

Training Exercises For Youth
- As youth introduce themselves, they start to show their “know-how” for resolving conflict by giving a positive example of what they do when a conflict arises.
Big Wind Blows
- A take off on musical chairs and “Simon Sez,” youth scramble to find an empty chair when the “big wind” calls. Youth learn how being singled out for different characteristics or circumstances can lead to conflict.
- Like tug of war, youth start on different sides of a line, and learn how win-win, win-lose, or lose-lose results, can be affected by force, manipulation, or compromise.
- Youth look at pictures that depict two distinct images. They learn that different perspectives do not mean someone is right or wrong, and the importance of respecting differences.
- A take off on “Twister,” youth come together in a small circle, join hands and get twisted up. They then have to get back to the original circle. Youth learn that conflicts can be resolved by teamwork, cooperation and patience.
- Working in pairs, one youth guides a blindfolded partner through a makeshift maze. Youth learn the importance of listening to people who can steer them in the right direction. Closure and Evaluations
